    QTVI TEACHER FOR STUDENTS WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

    TPS + SEN POINT(S) for experienced candidate - TLR also available for candidate with suitable experience

    We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and outstanding QTVI Teacher who will inspire and motivate our students.

    We invite applications from innovative, resilient, creative and motivated individuals who can play a key role in our specialist provision for Visual Impairment.

    Students are taught by a combination of the QTVI and experienced class teachers, supported by trained educational teaching assistants and braillists, in classes with their peer group to encourage team building, social skills and confidence.

    We are currently in the process of a new build which will see our building replaced by state-of-the art facilities for September 2017.  This is both a challenging and exciting time to be working at Plantsbrook School.

    LEVEL 2 TEACHING ASSISTANT VI (Visually impaired)

    Fixed Term post until 31st August 2018 (Funding related)

    Grade 2 £15,807 - £18,746 pa, pro rata +SEN allowance

    Actual Salary for 32.5 hours per week, term time £12,307 - £14,596 + £1235 SEN allowance

    Are you looking for a fresh challenge?  Can you be creative?  Are you able to support our VI students, many of whom are academically more able, to reach their full potential?

    We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and flexible Teaching Assistant to work with students aged 11-18 years, who have a range of visual impairments. Plantsbrook has a Resource Base for students with visual impairment.   You will support students across the curriculum range within the mainstream classrooms. The ability to support and prepare Braille is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.  To apply for the Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you should either be qualified to NVQ Level 2, or be willing to work towards obtaining this qualification.  Excellent opportunity for anyone looking for a career in education or social care.
